We collect a device identifier generated and stored on your device. This identifier is used solely to:

  • Distinguish one App installation from another
  • Associate check-in status and settings with a specific device
  • Enable reliable delivery of safety notifications

This identifier is not used for advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.

Emergency Contact Information

To enable safety notifications, you may choose to provide:

  • The name of an emergency contact
  • The email address of an emergency contact

This information is used only to notify the designated contact if you fail to check in as expected.

The App does not require or collect the user's own email address.

User-Provided Content

You may optionally provide a display name so that your emergency contact can identify who the alert relates to.

This information is used only for App functionality and is not shared for any other purpose.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or use:

  • Advertising identifiers (such as IDFA)
  • Third-party analytics or behavioral tracking data
  • Location data
  • Contact lists
  • Data for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes

AloneGuard does not display ads and does not participate in cross-app tracking.

How We Use Information

The information collected is used strictly to:

  • Operate and maintain the App's core safety features
  • Deliver check-in reminders and emergency notifications
  • Prevent misuse and ensure basic system reliability

We do not use collected data for advertising, marketing, or analytics.

Data Storage and Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process.

Some data may be processed on secure servers located in different regions in order to provide reliable service. By using the App, you acknowledge that such processing may occur.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You remain in control of your data:

  • Edit or Remove Emergency Contacts - You may update or remove emergency contact information at any time within the App.
  • Data Deletion Requests - You may contact us to request deletion of data associated with your device.
  • Access Requests - You may request information about the data we process in relation to your use of the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
